Due to the wide range and varying performance of commercially available monitors and graphic cards, and the variations in color-display associated with each possible configuration, even if your screen resolution and configuration (tint, brightness, etc.) are properly adjusted, the Virtual Decorator Xpert can not guarantee that the colors displayed will be 100% faithful to the associated paint brand colors nor their real world effect once applied. Monitor’s age and quality will also affect the colours.

What’s more, you may significantly alter on-screen color representation by simply adjusting your monitor settings to warm colors (6500 Kelvin degrees) or cool colors (9300 Kelvin degrees).

Finally, the Virtual Decorator Xpert is subject to the same restrictions as traditional samples. Once the paint is applied, the end result may differ slightly from the effect displayed on the Virtual Decorator Xpert, or on the sample card, as this depends significantly on the paint finish, the surface or surface texture that was painted as well as the type of ambient lighting used.

Note that colors reproduced on a printer will differ from real-world colors and even their on-screen versions. This is due to the fact that each printer produces colors with slight variations depending on type, make and model, quality, type of paper used and cartridge level.

This being said, the Virtual Decorator Xpert is a very efficient tool that allows users to display, test and evaluate the effects generated by the application and combination of paint colors in pictures of their own rooms before buying paint.
